Install SCOM 2012 R2 First Management Server

The SCOM 2012 R2 first Management Server will be installed on MS002.

Prerequisites

  • Local Admin User has rights on all the SCOM 2012 R2 and SQL servers.
  • Install Windows update,
  • Install SQLSysClrTypes and ReportViewer,

Installation steps

Log on MS002 using the Account, Open the installation path, right click to Setup and choose run as administrator


Click install.


Select the Management Servers and Console Server the Next.


Leave the default the installation Path then next.


Insure that the prerequisites passed then Click Next


Enter create the first MG then inter the MG Name “SCOM2K12” finally click next.


Accept the License Agreement then click next.


Enter the SQL server Name DBCluster Use the default SQL port 1433 and the name for the database (OperationsManager), set the database size to 5000 MB and make sure the data file and log file locations are correct (F: for Data and F: for Logs).


Enter the SQL server Name Use the default SQL port and the name for the database (OperationsManagerDW), set the database size to 5000 MB and make sure the data file and log file locations are correct (G: for Data and G: for Logs).


Enter the SCOM Installation account Domain\SCOM_Action_Account and the password for all Management Server action, Configuration service and data access, Data reader, Data Writer Accounts then click next.


Select No for both Customer experience and Error reporting then click next.


Select Off for Automatic Update then click next.


Ensure that the Summary information as the selected then click install.


Wait until the setup finished.


Insure the all marked green except the Management Group warning to use the Set-SCOMLicense cmdlet, Mark Start OpsMgr console then click Close.


The SCOM console should be opened now, Move into the SCOM Menus to make sure that it is working correctly with no Errors.


Set the License Key Using PS command Set-SCOMLicense -ProductId “<yourlicensekey>”, Type “A” for yes to all,

Insure that there are no error when you click inter


Ensure that the SCOM License Successfully Apllied using PS command Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a
