Configure SQL 2016 Reporting Service

Step by step configure SQL reporting service for SCOM 2016.

Prerequisites:

1.   Remote Registry Service: Must be enabled and started.

2.   SQL Server 2016

3.   SQL Server collation: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

4.   SQL Server Reporting Services in native mode only; do not use SharePoint integrated mode

5.   NET Framework 4 or .NET Framework 4.5 is required

·         Internet Information Services: IIS 7.5 and later versions, with the IIS Management Console and the following role services installed:

·         Static Content

·         Default Document

·         Directory Browsing

·         HTTP Errors

·         HTTP Logging

·         Request Monitor

·         Request Filtering

·         Static Content Compression

·         Web Server (IIS) Support

·         IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility

·         ASP.NET (both the 2.0 and 4.0 versions of ASP.NET are required.)

·         Windows Authentication

Configuration Steps

1. Click Start, expand SQL Server 2016 and click on Reporting Services configuration.

2. Find your SQL server and the instance name then click connect.

3. Make sure that you use the account with the needed rights to the SQL server.

4. Select the database and Select Change database

5. Leave the default and click next.

6. Select the server, select the Reporting account then test connection.

7. Click ok

8. Click Next.

9. Leave the default database name.

10.   On the authentication type Select Windows credential, inter username and the password.

11.   Review the summary then click next.

12.   Wait ……..

13.   Make sure that all Success then click finish

14.   Make sure that the success message.

15.   Select Web portal and click apply then open the report url

16.   Now you have the reporting service ready for the SCOM reporting
